This is in response to major uncertainties and disruptions. So what of the future?

What will this mean for larger supply chain companies such as DHL, Fedex, UPS and so on?

Watch out for growth of so-called virtual supply chain companies, where the manufacturer and supply chain company are 100% connected in real time, giving better visibility, better risk management, more agile response to disruptive events, while still maximising the economies of scale and efficiency of global transport infrastructure.
